Q: What is sugaring hair removal?

A: Sugaring hair removal is a natural method of hair removal that goes all the way back to Ancient Egypt using only lemon, water and sugar to remove unwanted hair.

Q: Can anyone get sugared?

A: Sugaring is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin!

*While sugaring is great for all skin types, certain medical conditions and medications can affect your ability to receive certain services, so please always consult your physician before receiving any services*

Q: How long does my hair have to be for sugaring?

A: Everyone’s hair growth varies but at least 10 days of growth is what I ask for most services. Unlike waxing, sugaring can remove some hairs as short as 1/16 inch!

Q: How long does sugaring hair removal last?

A: Sugaring can last up to six weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. With regular sugaring sessions, hair growth can become thinner and more sparse over time.

Q: Is sugaring painful?

A: Sugaring paste is applied at a lukewarm temperature, which reduces the risk of burns or discomfort and since the paste adheres only to the hair and not the skin, it is generally less painful than waxing! Some discomfort may still be experienced during, however the discomfort subsides quickly and it gets less painful with each time!

Q: What should I do before and after my sugaring appointment?

A: Before sugaring:

Make sure that your skin is clean and free from oils, lotions, or creams.

Opt out of caffeine the morning of, as it can increase sensitivity and the chance of irritation.

If you have sensitive skin, taking Ibuprofen/Advil 30 minutes prior to your appointment can help with discomfort during and after your service.

Wear loose breathable clothing to your appointment.

After sugaring:

Avoid sexual activity and working out for 24 hours after your service, as sweat and friction can cause irritation and lead to infection.

Follow post-care instructions as given to you by your provider!
